I had a new prescription for finasteride which is a hair loss drug. I have been taking it for a few years now and it has been working for me. It took me a little while to get to the point where I started to lose my hair. I was on Propecia for a year then and I was able to restore the hair, but I still have my original hairline. I am now taking finasteride for hair loss.
So far I have been taking the medication for hair loss and have not lost any hair. I am hoping that something will work for me but I do not know how to. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance for any help!

In an effort to help patients who cannot take other medicines to manage their condition, the National Pharmaceutical Association has published guidelines for the treatment of sexual disorders in women. The guidelines are published under the title “Men’s Sexual Health: A Manual for the Treatment of Female Sexual Disorders”. They are based on an article published in theJournal of Sexual Medicine.
According to the guidelines, in the treatment of female sexual disorders, the medical community should consider the following:
The drug is intended for the treatment of sexual disorders such as:
The drug is not recommended for women with sexual problems caused by a deficiency of a hormone or by a condition called male factor infertility.
Women with an inadequate or negative hormone balance of the female sex hormone progesterone and/or female sex hormone estrogen are prescribed a non-hormonal medicine that is also indicated to treat female sexual disorders.
The National Pharmaceutical Association recommends that the following drugs be used as the initial treatment for female sexual disorders:

Propecia is a medication that is used to treat male pattern baldness. It works by blocking the effects of a hormone in your body that can cause hair loss. The medication is available over the counter and is taken once daily for the treatment of male pattern hair loss. However, there are some differences between Propecia and hair loss medications that are not mentioned in this article. This article will help you understand the differences between the two.
Propecia is a medication that is used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). It works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that is a key factor in hair loss and male pattern baldness. This medication can be taken orally as a tablet, but it is important to note that the FDA approved the medication for hair loss in 1992. In 1997, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration approved Propecia to treat male pattern baldness.
While Propecia is effective for treating male pattern baldness, there are some potential drawbacks to be aware of. Firstly, it can cause side effects such as depression, sleep disturbances, and mood swings. Some people also experience an increased risk of sexual side effects, such as decreased libido or erectile dysfunction, which can be harmful.
The primary ingredient in Propecia is finasteride, which works by blocking the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone responsible for hair loss. DHT binds to receptors in the scalp and causes them to shrink, resulting in hair loss. Finasteride is taken orally as a tablet, and it works by blocking DHT, preventing it from entering the bloodstream and causing hair loss.
It is important to note that Propecia is not intended for everyone. It is intended for men who are experiencing symptoms of male pattern baldness, such as an increase in hair loss, and is not intended for use by women.
Propecia works by blocking DHT in the body, which can result in the gradual loss of hair. However, it can take up to 6 months to notice a significant difference in hair growth, and it is important to consult with a doctor before starting any hair loss treatment. It is important to note that the effects of Propecia are typically not permanent and can be influenced by lifestyle factors, such as diet and exercise.
There are many different types of hair loss treatments available for men, but the most popular type of hair loss treatment is minoxidil (Rogaine), which is a topical solution applied directly to the scalp. Minoxidil is a type of hair loss medication, and it has been used for decades to treat hair loss in men. Minoxidil works by improving blood flow to the hair follicles, which helps in the maintenance of the hair follicle and results in a thicker and healthier hair.
Propecia typically takes effect once you have taken the medication. However, it is important to note that some people may experience side effects such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and an increased risk of sexual side effects such as erectile dysfunction. It is important to consult with a doctor to determine if Propecia is right for you and to discuss potential risks and benefits.
Yes, Propecia and hair loss medications can be used to treat male pattern baldness. It is important to note that there are several other medications that can be used to treat hair loss, including minoxidil, clomiphene, and oral contraceptives. Some of these medications can help treat hair loss and may even be used for other conditions such as depression or anxiety. In some cases, there is an increased risk of side effects and there is a need for more research and consultation.

Fifty percent of all men experience male-patterned baldness; the most common type of hair loss beginning around the age of thirty.
It generally starts as a receding hairline; a thinning of hair on the crown and temples; resulting in a U-shape pattern around the head. In some rare cases, a male may end up completely bald.
The condition is genetic; caused by an abundance of the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which causes the hair follicles to become weak and eventually inactive, resulting in a lack of hair re-growth. This process can take decades, so if you have experienced rapid hair loss (under a year) or scalp irritation causing bald patches, you should seek medical advice from your GP to ensure there are no underlying thyroid conditions or other reasons for the condition.
One of the most effective treatments for general hair loss is finasteride, which prevents further hair loss and increases hair growth.
